The folded sheet steel mast shown has been developed by CU Lighting to comply with a British Telecom specification for microwave telephone links.

The masts are designed for heights up to 20 metres with a maximum 3 second gust wind speed, with parabolic dish aerials up to 1200mm diameter. The maximum size is subject to height and permitted rotation/deflection limits.

The mast is a tapered duodecagon (20 sided) section to give improved aerodynamic performance.

Provision can be made for climbing steps for access if required.

The feeders are carried down the mast internally supported by a catenary wire which is held in tension to prevent contact with the inner face of the mast.

Doors are fitted to the top and bottom of the mast and are closed with tri-head, security locking mechanisms.

The feeders can be taken out through the base and via a duct to the control equipment.

Standard finish as supplied is Hot Dipped Galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461.

The masts can be supplied as rooted or flanged. Holding down studs are supplied complete with template for casting-in by others. Ground level loads will be supplied to enable a foundation design to be carried out to suit local site conditions.
