CU Phosco Lighting has been producing telecommunications masts for over 20 years. Our relationships with Racal Antennas and Vodafone have blossomed since the early 1990’s when CU Phosco Lighting first began supplying Vodafone.
Racal Antennas understood the benefits which could be achieved by having a close working relationship between the technical teams from the two companies. The mutual understanding of the design constraints allowed CU Phosco Lighting to develop the specification and to provide the most structurally efficient monopole masts on the market.
Since Racal Antennas withdrawal from the civil telecommunications market, CU Phosco Lighting has taken up the baton providing Vodafone with a one-stop shop of design, manufacturing, assembly and testing services. This has ensured that there has been a seamless transition of service to the customer and no history has been lost.
Through our expert understanding of the design of these masts, CU Phosco Lighting is assisting Vodafone, and its installation contractors, in the upgrade of the existing antenna installations to take the latest 3G antennas and microwave dishes. The re-use of existing masts, while still meeting the latest design standards, has been achieved despite the higher overall design loads. This has saved Vodafone the purchase and installation costs that would have been incurred on the upgrade of every site.
