The folded sheet steel column shown has been developed by CU Lighting to comply with current specifications for microwave links. The column is designed to MCE2014 and current lighting column specifications as relevant.

The columns are designed for heights up to 20 metres with a max. 3 second gust wind speed of 51m/sec. A parabolic dish aerial up to 300mm diameter may also be
fixed subject to the height, location and perimeter rotation and deflection limits.

The column is a tapered duodecagon (20 sided) section to give improved aerodynamic performance.

Provision can be made for climbing steps if required.

The feeders are carried down the mast internally supported by a catenary wire which is held in tension to prevent contact with the inner face of the mast.

The feeders can be taken out through the base and via a duct to the control equipment. Doors are fitted to the top and bottom of the mast and are closed with tri-head,
security locking mechanisms.

Standard finish as supplied is Hot Dipped Galvanised to BS EN ISO 1461.

The masts can be supplied as rooted or flanged. Holding down studs are supplied complete with anchorplate for casting-in by others. Ground level loads will be supplied to enable a foundation design to be prepared to suit local site conditions.
