Objectives
To provide a cost effective Led lighting system to a small village hamlet. Design must utilise existing column spaces as these will not be removed or replaced to suit a lantern performance. The council are replacing 55W Sox lanterns throughout the village to achieve better lighting levels and reduce energy consumption. It is an opportunity to trial an LED solution and monitor results.
Solutions
The Ruud Lighting 30 LED Ledway Road lantern designed with special mount brackets to fit existing column solutions. This lantern was chosen as it provided excellent uniformity throughout the area from existing positions. Residents moving around the small village can do so with clear view of traffic and people as cars and pedestrians share the small access road. The lighting system offers much greater clarification of activity whilst achieving zero light pollution/obtrusive light.
Response
Very good lighting level achieved, much better than the old installation. We are very pleased with the overall project delivery in terms of a suitable solution.
